2 civilians killed as Russian strikes batter Kyiv region villages, Ukraine

According to the National Police of Ukraine (published 9 September 2026), Russian forces have continued striking civilian areas in the Kyiv region since 8 September.

In Bucha district, two men were killed and three others were wounded. Damage was also reported to a warehouse, an outbuilding, seven private houses and four cars.

In Boryspil district, a 2-year-old girl sustained a shrapnel wound and was taken to hospital. A private house, an outbuilding and two cars were damaged.

In Brovary district, two men received shrapnel wounds. A private house and a garage were damaged.

Police are continuing to document the consequences of the attacks. Investigators will open criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes).
