2 civilians killed by Russian strikes across Kharkiv region in Ukraine

National Police of Ukraine reported on September 27, 2026, that Russian forces carried out multiple attacks on the city of Kharkiv and settlements across Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, Bohodukhiv, and Izium districts the previous day. The assaults involved a rocket, multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), and various types of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) targeting civilian areas.

Two people were killed and seven were injured, according to police documentation of the consequences, which they described as war crimes by Russian military personnel.

In the Slobidskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kharkiv, a building and a stadium were damaged.

Near the village of Pytomnyk in the Derhachi community, vehicles were damaged in an attack. A 50-year-old man was killed, and a 73-year-old woman was injured but declined hospitalization. In Derhachi itself, a store was damaged.

In the village of Prosianka (Kupiansk district), a drone strike damaged an ambulance. Houses and a garage were damaged in the settlement of Velykyi Burluk. In Shevchenkove, an MLRS attack damaged a boarding school (internat facility).

In the village of Lebiazhe (Chuhuiv district), an MLRS strike hit a multi-apartment residential building, damaging vehicles and windows in nearby homes. Five people were injured, including boys aged 12, 13, and 5; all received medical assistance.

On a field road near the village of Sinne (Bohodukhiv district), drones struck a car, killing a man and injuring a 16-year-old boy, who received medical care.

Other incidents included a drone strike on a parked car in Skovorodynivka (Zolochiv community); damage to outbuildings and private houses in Zolochiv; a private house damaged in Riasne; a private house and outbuilding damaged in Kalynove; private homes damaged in Koziutivka (Izium district); a hangar and private homes damaged in Izium; an enterprise outbuilding damaged in Novoselivka; cars and an administrative building damaged in Zlatopil (Lozova district); and a warehouse hit by a drone in Lozova, sparking a fire.

Separately, a 60-year-old resident of Nyzhche Solone picked up an unknown object in his garden that detonated, causing explosive injuries; he was taken to a hospital in Kharkiv.

On September 26, police inspected the sites and entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations for criminal proceedings related to Russia’s armed aggression.
