4 civilians killed during multiple Russian strikes in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine
Russian forces killed four civilians and wounded five others in attacks across Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region over the past day, the National Police of Ukraine reported on September 27, 2026. Police are documenting the strikes as war crimes.
Over a 24-hour period, Russian troops directed 749 strike drones of various types at the region, carried out 20 airstrikes, and conducted 202 artillery shellings, according to the police statement.
Specific civilian casualties included:
- On the morning of September 26 in Raiske, an FPV drone struck a passenger car, killing a 22-year-old man and wounding a 46-year-old woman.
- Guided aerial bombs hit the residential sector of Komyshuvakha, destroying a private house and killing a 68-year-old man while injuring four other people.
- An airstrike on Druzheliubivka wounded a 59-year-old woman.
- Overnight in Novotavriiske, a drone strike on a vehicle killed a 41-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man.
The attacks affected a wide range of locations, including the city of Zaporizhzhia and numerous villages and settlements such as Komyshuvakha, Yasna Poliana, Stepnohirsk, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, and others.
Police recorded 86 reports of destruction and damage to infrastructure, residential buildings, and vehicles. Investigators from the police and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code (war crimes).
During the same period, police evacuated three residents: one each from Kushuhum and Komyshuvakha, and one woman from Preobrazhenka. Authorities urged civilians to evacuate promptly when necessary, emphasizing that saving lives is the priority, and to call the emergency line 102 if needed.
