3 residents killed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Adamawa, Nigeria

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked communities in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing at least three residents and injuring two others, according to a police report.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed the incident in its state-by-state operational summary for September 26, 2026. Officers conducted an on-the-spot assessment after the attack. Three bodies were recovered and taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Hong for post-mortem examination, while the two injured victims were evacuated to the same facility for treatment.

Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu said joint security operatives are currently pursuing the perpetrators.

The assault is the latest in a series of attacks on communities in Hong LGA. In August 2026, suspected Boko Haram fighters struck Gaya-Dlang community in the same local government area, killing a police inspector and seven civilians while abducting four girls. Weeks later, militants invaded Bitirhuya community, killing four residents and setting many houses on fire. That attack came shortly after terrorists killed 12 people in Nzangola village in neighbouring Gombi Local Government Area.

The Adamawa incident was included in a broader nationwide police update that also highlighted other security operations across several states.
