Civilian killed in drone strike on truck in Belgorod region, Russia

A Ukrainian drone struck a cargo truck overnight near the settlement of Pyatnitskoye in Russia’s Belgorod region, killing one civilian and wounding another, according to the regional operational headquarters.

The attack occurred early on September 25, 2026. The man who died sustained fatal injuries at the scene. Officials expressed condolences to his family and loved ones.

A second man suffered multiple shrapnel wounds to the body. He was taken to Volokonovsky Central District Hospital for initial treatment and is to be transferred to Valuyskaya Central District Hospital. The truck was damaged in the strike.

The Belgorod operational headquarters (Telegram channel @operativno31) reported the incident as part of ongoing Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks on the border region, which has seen frequent drone and artillery strikes.
