Israeli civilian neutralizes terrorist after vehicle arson in Palestine

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops responded Monday to reports of a vehicle set on fire and two terrorists operating near the village of Ramon in the Binyamin Brigade sector of Judea and Samaria (West Bank).

According to the official IDF statement, one of the terrorists was armed with a knife. An Israeli civilian neutralized the knife-wielding attacker. Large numbers of IDF forces were scrambled to the area, where they cordoned off the vicinity and launched a pursuit of the second terrorist.

Further details from Israeli media and the Binyamin Regional Council indicate the incident occurred in the grazing areas of the Hananya (or Chananya/Hanina) Farm, near the American Academy in Ramon. A Palestinian terrorist arrived equipped with a lighter and gloves, set fire to a farm vehicle, then pulled out a knife and threatened residents when they approached. A local resident struck the attacker with a vehicle, neutralizing the threat. No Israeli casualties were reported.

Police and forensic investigators arrived at the scene. Initial accounts suggested the attacker may have prepared in advance. Security forces continued searching for a possible second suspect who fled.

The episode marked one of at least two terror-related incidents reported in the region within hours on Monday.
