1 soldier killed as gunmen ambush security patrol in Zinapécuaro, Mexico

A Mexican Army soldier was killed and three others were wounded late on Friday, September 5, 2026, after armed civilians attacked elements of an Interinstitutional Operations Base (BOI) during a security operation in a rural, hilly area of Zinapécuaro, Michoacán.
