2 civilians killed as Russian drones hit Bucha district in Kyiv, Ukraine

Two civilians were killed and one injured in Russian attacks on the Kyiv region on September 5, 2026, according to the National Police of Ukraine.

In the Bucha district, a man and a woman died, and another woman was injured. Three private houses were damaged in the strikes.

In the Fastiv district, debris from drones sparked a fire at a local enterprise. In the Vyshhorod district, agricultural machinery was damaged.

Police officers from the Kyiv region are working at the sites of the attacks, documenting the damage and gathering evidence. Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which covers war crimes.

The attacks form part of ongoing Russian strikes on the region. Regional authorities reported that a total of 28 sites across five districts were damaged during the day, including homes, warehouses, railway infrastructure, and vehicles.
