9 killed as Israeli airstrikes hit civilians in Kfarrman town, Lebanon

Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health reported that Israeli airstrikes on the town of Kfar Rumman (also spelled Kfar Roummane) in the Nabatieh district killed nine people and injured 13 others early Monday. Among the casualties were paramedics, children, and women.

According to a statement from the ministry’s Health Emergency Operations Center, one strike hit a house in the town, resulting in eight deaths (including one child and two women) and 11 injuries (including four children, two women, and a paramedic from the health authority). A separate strike targeted a vehicle in the same town, killing one paramedic from the Risala Scouts and injuring two others from the same group.

The ministry described the toll as further evidence of serious violations of international humanitarian law, noting that paramedics and children are protected under the rules of war.

Other Lebanese reports provided additional details consistent with the ministry’s figures. Israeli warplanes struck a three-story residential building belonging to a local resident near the “Shi’oumiya” roundabout after midnight, destroying it. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of nine people from the rubble, including infants/children, along with several wounded. A drone strike hit a civilian car carrying medics from the Islamic Risala Scouts, killing two of them.

The strikes occurred amid ongoing cross-border tensions and reported violations of a prior ceasefire arrangement. The Israeli military had not issued an immediate public comment on these specific incidents in initial reports. Casualty figures can evolve as rescue and medical operations continue.
