2 civilians killed as Russian drones hit regional towns in Sumy, Ukraine

Two people were killed and three others wounded, including a 14-year-old girl, in a series of Russian drone attacks on communities in Ukraine’s Sumy region, the National Police of Ukraine reported on Sunday.

Investigative-operational groups and explosive ordnance disposal specialists from the Sumy regional police worked at the scenes of the strikes.

In the Sumy territorial community, a hostile drone strike killed a 38-year-old woman and injured a 41-year-old man. The attack damaged an apartment building, vehicles, a shop, and an educational institution.

In the Khutir-Mykhailivska community, a drone strike killed a 54-year-old man.

In the Konotop community, a UAV strike injured a 14-year-old girl.

In the Hlukhiv community, a drone attack wounded a 33-year-old man and damaged a residential house and a shop.

Police investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes) in connection with all the incidents. The investigation is ongoing.
