IRGC soldier killed by a roadside bomb in Sistan and Baluchestan, Iran

The Public Relations Office of the Quds Base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Force announced that terrorists planted a roadside bomb along one of the communication routes in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, killing one of the “warriors of Islam.”

According to the statement released on Friday, 10 Mehr 1405 (October 2, 2026), the attackers resorted to this “cowardly and blind terrorist operation” after suffering successive humiliating defeats in the region, the elimination of a significant number of their members, and failure in sabotage attempts. The statement described the action as an effort by “mercenary terrorists of the enemy” to compensate for their setbacks.

The IRGC emphasized that such attacks will not undermine the determination of its forces to ensure public security and defend the Islamic homeland. It pledged that the process of identifying, pursuing, and clearing terrorist elements and enemy mercenaries will continue with full force and resolve until their complete destruction.

The announcement did not provide further details such as the exact location of the blast, the identity of the martyred fighter, or any claims of responsibility. Sistan and Baluchestan has seen repeated security incidents involving militant groups in recent years.
