One suspected terrorist killed in joint security operation in Budgam’s Ashdar Gali, India

One suspected terrorist was neutralised on Friday in a joint search operation conducted by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in the Ashdar Gali area of Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the official statement from the Army’s Chinar Corps, the operation (named OP ASHDAR) was launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs. Troops observed suspicious activity in the forested area. When challenged, the terrorists opened fire, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.
During the encounter, one terrorist was neutralised. Security forces recovered one AK-series rifle and other war-like stores from the site.
The search operation remains in progress as forces continue looking for other members of the group believed to be in the area.
The identity of the slain terrorist has not yet been established.
