4 shot dead by heavily armed gunmen at a late night social in Kingstown, SVG
Four people were shot and killed and four others wounded in a mass shooting in Green Hill, Central Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, on Friday night, September 25, 2026.
Police were notified of the incident around 10:30 p.m. near the hard court in the village. Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Brenton Smith confirmed the four deaths at the scene and said four people had been taken to hospital with apparent gunshot wounds. All four injured were reported to be in stable condition.
Multiple reliable sources identified the deceased as:
- Steve King, 22, self-employed, of Green Hill
- Antonio Samuel, 30, of Green Hill
- Shaqueil Peters, 26, of Green Hill
- Shevon Chandler, 23, of Paul’s Avenue
Steve King is the son of Stephen King (also known as King-O), a 76-year-old businessman who was shot dead while sitting on the patio of his Green Hill home in May 2025.
The injured included a 20-year-old Green Hill woman (right hand), a 17-year-old male student (right arm, right leg and left hand), a 28-year-old man (right arm), and a 16-year-old mechanic (left thigh, right forearm and left hand).
Videos from the scene indicated that Chandler died inside a vehicle, while two of the men died in the street and another along a nearby dirt track. Police from the Crime Investigation Unit processed the scene overnight. Acting Commissioner of Police Trevor “Buju” Bailey was also among the officers who responded.
The killings brought the homicide count in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to 36 for the year so far (following 40 in 2025, 54 in 2024 and a record 55 in 2023). It is the second multi-fatality shooting in the Kingstown area this year and has drawn comparisons to earlier mass shootings, including the July 2023 incident in Upper Kingstown that claimed five lives.
Investigations remain ongoing. No further details on suspects or motive have been released by police.
