4 people killed as a maniac stabs multiple victims in Houma homes, USA

Deputies from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office initially responded to the 200 block of Ashland Drive after locating a juvenile with apparent stab wounds. The child was airlifted by Acadian Ambulance Service Air Med to an out-of-area hospital and remains in critical condition.

As the investigation continued, deputies found multiple deceased victims inside nearby homes. At least four people have been pronounced dead.

In an investigative update, Sheriff Tim Soignet identified Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, of Houma, as a person of interest. The identification does not constitute an arrest or formal charge. The investigation remains active and ongoing as detectives gather evidence.

Anyone with information on Solet’s whereabouts is asked to contact Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives at (985) 876-2500. Anonymous tips can go to Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433, CrimeStoppersBR.org, or the Bayou Tips app; tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if the information leads to an arrest.

Solet has a prior history of arrests related to stabbings in the area (including a 2019 fatal stabbing case that a grand jury declined to indict and a separate attempted-murder case in which he was later found not guilty), but he has not been convicted in those matters.

Further details are expected as the investigation develops.
