4 civilians killed as Russian guided bombs strike Oleksandrivka, Ukraine

At least four people were killed and four others wounded, including a young child, in a Russian airstrike on the settlement of Oleksandrivka in Ukraine’s Donetsk region on the morning of 23 September.

According to Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Russian forces dropped four aerial bombs on the settlement at around 10:00 local time. The attack destroyed one multi-storey residential building and damaged 11 other apartment blocks, 42 private houses, a kindergarten, a shop, an administrative building and six vehicles.

Among the wounded is a child born in 2021. Preliminary information indicates that up to eight more people may remain trapped under the rubble, including two young children born in 2024 and 2025. Emergency and rescue services are continuing search-and-rescue operations at the site.

Filashkin urged remaining residents of Donetsk region, especially those with children, to evacuate without delay, stressing that children should not have to live under the threat of aerial bombs. He offered assistance with evacuation and accommodation.
