4 civilians killed by RSF militia drone strike in Dilling, Sudan

At least four civilians, among them a child and a woman, were killed and others injured in a drone attack that struck residential neighbourhoods in the city of Dilling (also known as Al-Dilling), South Kordofan State, on Friday evening, according to local monitoring accounts.

The account @sudan_war reported that unmanned aerial vehicles operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted civilian areas in the city. Photos circulating with the report show a heavily damaged red truck โ€” appearing to be a fire or utility vehicle โ€” with twisted metal, debris, and structural destruction under trees in daylight.

Dilling, under Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) control but long subject to pressure from RSF and allied forces, has faced repeated shelling, drone strikes, and siege conditions during Sudanโ€™s civil war. Civilian casualties from such attacks have been documented multiple times in 2026 across Kordofan states.

Independent verification of the latest incident remains limited at this stage, as is common with rapidly developing reports from the conflict zone. The broader pattern of drone use by both sides against populated areas has drawn repeated condemnation from UN human rights officials for endangering civilians.

The war between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, which began in April 2023, continues to inflict heavy civilian tolls through airstrikes, artillery, and ground fighting across the country.
