1 killed as suspects on a scooter shoot a man in Toulouse, France

A man was killed in a shooting late Tuesday evening in the Bellefontaine neighborhood of Le Mirail in Toulouse, according to French media reports.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on September 15, an individual opened fire multiple times on the victim at the base of a residential building. The gunman then fled on a scooter that was waiting with a second person.

Emergency responders performed CPR, but the victim died at the scene. Investigators recovered around 40 shell casings of 9mm and 7.62mm calibers.

The Toulouse prosecutor’s office confirmed the details. The victim, whose full identity is still being established and who is described as a foreign national, was known to the justice system.

Authorities have opened an investigation for murder committed by an organized group. The case is being handled by the Division of Organized and Specialized Crime (DCOS). The suspects remain at large.
