Man killed in fierce shooting near Recoleta commune intersection in Chile

A man was shot dead in Chile in the early hours of Monday, October 26, 2026, in the Recoleta commune of the Metropolitan Region. The victim, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old and believed to be Chilean, was killed at the intersection of Juárez Larga and Juárez Corta.

Police found more than 20 ballistic evidence markers at the scene, indicating a heavy volley of gunfire. Authorities are investigating whether one of the projectiles struck a nearby apartment. The victim's identity has not yet been confirmed.

The Investigative Police (PDI) is searching for the perpetrators through interviews and the review of security camera footage. The killing is the second firearm homicide recorded in the commune since Saturday.
