Russian airstrike on Ukraine’s Yasnohirka village kills one person

A Russian airstrike on the settlement of Yasnohirka in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region killed one person on Monday, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The attack occurred in the middle of the day when Russian aviation dropped four aerial bombs on a private residential area and commercial facilities in the settlement’s center.

The strike sparked fires that engulfed a private house, a shop, market pavilions, and five vehicles. Rescue workers recovered a woman from the rubble and transferred her to medical personnel.

The Kramatorsk City Military Administration reported that 10 people were injured in the attack, including a 13-year-old girl.

Emergency crews localized the fires but were forced to suspend extinguishing efforts due to the threat of repeated shelling. Authorities noted that the exact number of casualties and the full extent of the damage are still being assessed.
