2 killed as hitmen shoot them inside a house in San Ignacio, Bolivia
Two young men were shot dead in a house in the San Martín neighborhood of San Ignacio de Velasco, Santa Cruz department, Bolivia, on the night of Monday, September 14, 2026.
The victims were preliminarily identified as Julio and Israel. According to the father of one of them, the two were live-streaming on TikTok when attackers burst into the home and opened fire around 9:00 p.m. The father described them as “innocent people,” noting that his son sold motorcycles.
Police and prosecutors arrived at the scene to recover the bodies and begin an investigation. Photos circulating afterward showed the faces of the two young men, who were recognized by family and acquaintances. Residents of the San Martín neighborhood expressed alarm. No motive or suspects have been publicly identified so far.
This brings the number of people killed in San Ignacio de Velasco to four in a little more than 24 hours. Two other men were murdered in the same municipality early Sunday morning; those cases are also under investigation, and authorities are examining whether the killings are connected.
San Ignacio de Velasco, near the Brazilian border, has seen repeated incidents of gun violence in recent years, often linked by police to score-settling and organized crime activity in the region. Investigations into the latest shootings continue.
