Person killed after Russian forces launch morning air strikes on Kyiv in Ukraine
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that a Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital early on 8 October left one person dead and 11 others injured.
โSince the beginning of the day on 8 October in Kyiv, as a result of enemy attacks, one person has died. 11 residents of the city have been injured,โ Klitschko said.
Medics hospitalised nine of the wounded. Debris from a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) fell on open ground in the Holosiivskyi district. Klitschko later added that a UAV struck a four-storey shop building in the Solomyanskyi district.
An air-raid alert remained in effect in the capital from 9 a.m. due to the ongoing drone threat.
This follows a Russian strike the previous evening (7 October) on a multi-storey residential building in Kyiv that killed two people.
