4 civilians killed in Russian shelling of Donetsk region in Ukraine
Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 1,729 attacks on the front line and residential areas of Donetsk Oblast, according to the National Police of Ukraine.
Eleven settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk and Sloviansk; the settlements of Bilenke and Yasnogirka; and the villages of Vesela Hora, Zelene, Zoloti Prudy, Novostepanivka, Petrivka Persha and Stepanivka.
Twenty civilian objects were damaged, including six residential buildings.
In Sloviansk, one FPV drone struck near a car and another hit a regular bus. One person was killed and three were injured. Three apartment buildings, a shop, an administrative building, a service station and a gas station were also damaged.
In the village of Zelene (Pokrovsk district), Russian forces killed two civilians with an FPV drone.
One person was killed in Vesela Hora, where a private house was damaged.
In Kramatorsk, one civilian was wounded and three civilian vehicles were damaged.
One person was wounded in Druzhkivka and another in Zoloti Prudy.
Private houses were damaged in Novostepanivka and Petrivka Persha. An administrative building of an agricultural enterprise was damaged in Stepanivka.
In addition, Russian troops attacked Sloviansk overnight at 00:05 and 04:15, damaging an apartment building and destroying a commercial pavilion. No casualties were reported from these strikes, according to preliminary information.
Police and the Security Service of Ukraine have opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes).
The National Police of Donetsk Oblast urged residents to observe the curfew, avoid unverified routes (as the enemy targets civilian vehicles), and use official evacuation routes. Citizens are also advised not to touch unknown objects or unexploded ordnance and to report them to emergency services.
