1 killed as car thieves are shot inside Bogotá parking lot, Colombia

At least one person was killed and four others wounded in a shooting in the Las Lomas neighborhood of the Rafael Uribe Uribe locality in southern Bogotá, an attack police believe may have been a settling of scores.
The shooting took place in the afternoon of Monday, August 24, inside a parking lot where a group of people were gathered.
According to Lt.
Col.
Óscar Flórez of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, several people were struck by gunfire while socializing inside the lot.
One person died at the scene, while four others — including a woman — were rushed to nearby medical centers for treatment.
Authorities have ruled out robbery as a motive and are investigating the possibility that the attack was a settling of accounts between parties.
Investigators are reviewing security camera footage from the area to determine how the events unfolded and to identify those responsible.
The incident is the latest in a series of violent episodes in the capital, which has seen a rise in armed attacks linked to organized crime and local disputes.
Police have not yet announced any arrests in connection with the shooting.
