Israeli airstrike in Gaza camp for displaced people kills 3 palestinians
Three Palestinians, including a seven-year-old girl, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a camp for displaced people in southern Gaza on Monday, according to Palestinian medical and civil defence officials. The strike hit the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis, where displaced families were sheltering.
Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis confirmed receiving the three bodies, identifying the deceased as Hossam al-Zamli, Tamer Abu Sneima, and Jouri al-Soufi, a young girl whose age was given as seven by Gazaโs education ministry.
The hospital reported that several wounded people, including a woman and a child, were also brought in for treatment.
Gaza civil defence spokesman Mahmoud Bassal said the victimsโ bodies were โtorn apart by direct hits from shrapnel from the Israeli missileโ.
The Israeli military told AFP it was looking into the reports of the strike. Separately, a security source in Gaza reported that Israeli tanks and military vehicles advanced Monday morning into an area west of the so-called Yellow Line in eastern Deir al-Balah, accompanied by heavy gunfire.
