Drone strike on busy South Darfur market kills 4 civilians in Sudan

A drone strike hit Almawashi market in Nyala, South Darfur, Sudan, on 16 October, killing at least four people, including a child, according to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

Wounded people were brought to the Ministry of Health Nyala Teaching Hospital, which MSF supports. Medical teams treated eight people.

MSF noted the market was struck on the busiest day of the week, making civilian casualties inevitable. The organization called on the Sudanese Armed Forces and all parties to the conflict to respect civilian lives and stop attacks on markets and other civilian areas.
