State police officer killed following attack in Puebla neighborhood, Mexico

A State Police officer was killed on October 16, 2026, following a violent attack in the vicinity of the Tres Cerritos neighborhood in Puebla.

The Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) of the State of Puebla confirmed the officer's death and announced an immediate response to the incident. In response to the fatal assault, the SSP has initiated a coordinated deployment operation alongside federal and municipal authorities, as well as the Attorney General's Office of the State of Puebla (Fiscalía General del Estado de Puebla).

The ongoing joint operation aims to clarify the circumstances surrounding the attack and successfully apprehend those responsible for the officer's death.
