2 youth shot dead by motorcycle-borne suspects, Dominican Republic

One of the men wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of two teenagers has turned himself in to authorities, the National Police of the Dominican Republic announced.

Manuel Andrés Peña Santana, 23, surrendered voluntarily on Tuesday evening. He had been actively sought under arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0084293 for his alleged involvement in the double homicide of Frainer Vásquez, known as “Nono,” 19, and Yuliza Rosario Chala, 18.

The killings occurred on September 26 on the marginal avenue of Las Américas in the La Caleta municipal district of Boca Chica. According to investigators from the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), working under the coordination of the Public Ministry, the suspects were captured on video riding two motorcycles and firing at the victims.

Vásquez was shot in the head. Rosario Chala suffered gunshot wounds to the right shoulder and abdomen. Both died as a result of the attack.

With Peña Santana’s surrender, three of the four individuals identified in the case are now in custody. Authorities had previously arrested a 16-year-old whose identity is being withheld and Elidani Vizcaíno, known as “Morgue,” 24. A blue Suzuki AX-100 motorcycle without license plates was seized from the adolescent during the investigation.

Police continue to search for the fourth suspect, Cristian Mena Henríquez, known as “Miñi,” 19, who remains at large.

The National Police stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
