Houthi shelling kills 3 civilians across Taiz governorate in Yemen

Three civilians, including two women, were killed and five others injured on Friday in artillery, mortar, and sniper attacks across several areas of Yemen’s Taiz governorate, according to the Taiz Siege Affairs Office.

The office said Safwan Saeed Obaid Ahmed, 28, was killed by a mortar shell in al-Shaqab village, while Asiya Abdul Samad Saeed Ahmed Radman, 55, died in artillery shelling of al-Aneen village. Safia Hizaa Saif al-Azani was killed when a shell struck her home in Sabir al-Mawadim district.

The five wounded included a woman injured in al-Shaqab, a woman shot in Kahlan and taken to al-Thawra General Hospital, and three men wounded by shell fragments in Aqaqa. The office said civilians continue to face shelling and sniper fire in parts of the governorate.
