Houthi missile and drone attack on Aden presidential palace kills 5 in Yemen

Five people were killed and 16 others wounded when Iran-aligned Houthi rebels launched a missile and drone attack on the presidential Al-Maashiq Palace in Aden, the seat of Yemen's internationally recognized government, on Thursday.

Yemen's Health Ministry confirmed the casualties, which included security personnel and civilian employees working at the government complex. The Houthis claimed they were targeting a military operations center inside the compound.

Prime Minister Shaya Zindani and members of the government were reported safe following the strike, which officials condemned as "cowardly." The attack marks one of the highest-profile strikes on the Yemeni government since it launched operation "Yemen's Dawn" earlier this month in its long-running war against the rebels.

The Saudi-led coalition said military operations would continue to degrade Houthi capabilities, while Yemen's military reported killing a prominent Houthi commander responsible for ballistic missile and drone operations.
