Russian drone strike kills 2 in Kyiv residential complex in Ukraine

A hostile Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck the courtyard of a residential complex in the capital's Darnytsei district, killing two women and injuring nine other civilians, according to the National Police of Ukraine.

The strike occurred in the evening hours of Monday, October 12, 2026.

Local law enforcement and emergency services arrived at the scene to document the aftermath of the attack and provide immediate assistance.

Authorities confirmed that the two deceased victims were women aged 39 and 59. Among the nine wounded individuals, at least one is a minor.

The Darnytsei district, located on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, is a heavily populated residential area. National Police investigators continue to collect evidence at the blast site to register the incident as a war crime.
