2 killed as Russian forces strike multiple areas of Ukraine’s Dnipro region

Russian forces attacked Dnipro city on 16 October, killing a man and injuring four other people; the strike also sparked a fire and damaged an enterprise, according to the National Police of Ukraine.

In the Nikopol district, over 40 attacks by drones and artillery targeted three frontline communities in the past day: a 74-year-old woman was killed in her apartment in Nikopol, and a subsequent strike on Marhanets injured a 71-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman. Police recorded 27 reports of shelling across Nikopol, Marhanets and nearby villages, with apartment buildings, private homes, a business and a shop damaged.

Investigators documented the attacks as war crimes under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
