5 Sudanese killed by drone strike at displacement shelter in Chad
Five Sudanese nationals, including two humanitarian volunteers, were killed and several others were seriously injured in a drone strike on Bamna, a border town in Chad near Sudanโs Al-Tina locality, on the evening of 20 October.
The strike reportedly targeted a site sheltering Sudanese refugees.
The Al-Tina Emergency Rooms Council identified the volunteers as Al-Hadi Sandal Issa, coordinator of the Bamna emergency room, and Adam Omda Arja, a member of its programs office. It said the other three victims were Sudanese refugees, while a medical source in Chad reported that some of the wounded were in critical condition.
Darfur24 cited the local council and the medical source; it also reported that communications outages were hindering efforts to assess casualties.
