Armed ambush claims lives of 4 security officers in Hama province, Syria
A treacherous armed attack has left four members of the Syrian Internal Security Forces (ISF) dead in the rural outskirts of the Hama Governorate.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior's Internal Security Forces command confirmed the casualties on Wednesday, stating that the personnel belonged to the Highway Patrol Management division. The officers were targeted while conducting a routine patrol in the Al-Wasita area of the Hama countryside.
According to official state social media channels, the patrol was ambushed by unidentified gunmen while fulfilling their national duty. No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the deadly assault, which underscores the persistent security challenges facing state personnel deployed in rural regions.
Security reinforcements have reportedly been dispatched to the area to secure the highway and launch a search operation for the perpetrators.
