Police investigate homicide of person following firearm attack in Peru

The National Police of Peru have launched an official investigation following the homicide of a 34-year-old individual in the La Libertad region. The fatal shooting, which claimed the life of a victim identified by the initials P. R. C. C., took place in the town of Cartavio, located within the Santiago de Cao district.

At the scene of the crime, law enforcement officers recovered five ammunition shell casings. Forensic experts and police units are currently executing specialized procedures and investigations to properly identify and apprehend the person responsible for the attack.

According to the official police statement released on October 23, 2026, no suspects have been detained or taken into custody so far in connection with the incident.
