3 armed individuals killed during a patrol shootout with the GSF in Haiti

Personnel from the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) came under fire from armed elements during a patrol in the Gros-Morne area early Tuesday morning, according to an official statement from the force.

The GSF said its members responded in accordance with their rules of engagement. Three armed individuals were killed in the exchange, while others fled the scene. No casualties were reported among GSF personnel.

Troops remained in the area for several hours to monitor the situation before returning to their base in Gonaïves.

The force later received reports that gang members targeted civilians in the area after GSF troops departed. The GSF strongly condemned the attacks and any violence directed against civilians.
