2 killed in armed attack on road between Yarumal and Valdivia in Colombia

Two people, a man and a woman, were killed in an armed attack on the road connecting Yarumal and Valdivia in Antioquia, Colombia, on October 22, 2026. According to preliminary reports, the victims were traveling in a minibus from Yarumal to the El 12 district of Tarazá when the vehicle was intercepted by around 15 people at a location known as Ventanitas.

The attackers forced the victims out of the vehicle and shot them multiple times before fleeing the scene. The bodies remained on the road until a funeral service collected them and transported them to the morgue in Yarumal, with the army providing accompaniment.

Authorities are investigating the double homicide. Sources in the area indicated that the victims are not from the territory and were not known locally. Officials expect to identify them at the municipal morgue in Yarumal. The attack has generated fear among people who use that road corridor in northern Antioquia.
