Bolivia police arrest suspect in Llallagua stabbing deaths of 2 brothers

Bolivian police have arrested a 24-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing two brothers, aged 9 and 15, in the municipality of Llallagua, located in the northern Potosí department. The attack occurred on the night of Sunday, October 18, while the minors were playing soccer on a sports field in the Agua de Castilla community.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspect approached the children and became involved in a verbal altercation before leaving the scene. He allegedly returned shortly afterward armed with a knife and attacked the brothers. One victim was assaulted near the field, while the other attempted to flee but was pursued and caught by the attacker. Both siblings died from severe blood loss resulting from their injuries.

The suspect fled following the incident, prompting police to launch a search operation. He was located and apprehended on Monday morning while apparently attempting to leave the municipality. Authorities have not yet established a motive for the attack, and the suspect is expected to be brought before prosecutors as the investigation continues.
